Viz Media is planning to host Takehiko Inoue, the world-renowned manga creator
of Slam Dunk, Vagabond, and REAL, as a special guest at the new Kinokuniya flagship
bookstore in New York City on November 19. Inoue will create an exclusive drawing
on a wall that has been reserved for him on the store's second floor.

Taiwanese pop singer Jay Chou has agreed to play the lead role in a live-action
"tribute" to the Slam Dunk manga. NBA star Yao Ming will also make
a cameo appearance.
The film will be directed by Chu Yin-Ping and produced by Taiwan's Chang-Hong
Channel Film & Video Co. Ltd.

Chang Hong Television Group (Taiwan) and Shanghai Film and Television Group
(China) will begin production work next week on a live-action adaptation of
Takehiko Inoue’s Slam Dunk manga.
A 101-episode anime series and four animated movies were spin-offs from the
manga.
